What Is the H.S Code?
The Harmonized System (H.S) Code is an internationally standardized system used worldwide to classify traded products.
It consists of six unified digits applied across all countries. However, individual countries are allowed to extend the system to create 8-, 10-, or even 12-digit codes, based on their local tax systems and regulatory needs.
The primary purpose of the H.S Code is to standardize product classification globally, as the volume of goods traded internationally is extremely large and product names may vary from one country to another.
